you need three copies of your data:
1- you need your live copy that then production what you’re using when your servers on your system today.
2- you need a local snapshot or a local copy of that in your same facility where you can easily get to it very quickly and they’ve been used of a small emergency or just a simple restoring.
3- you need offsite copy what they call the remote data and they could be in another remote data center of your facilities there in the case of a total disaster (fire, flood, theft) whatever that maybe that will be you can get to all of your data and do full restore from that
those are the simple things and then the last piece of that is making sur that you’re testing those backups at least once a year that you’re making sure that you can restore from that back of data and that it’s a not corrupt data
